BR comments that Patrick Pottle had been incorrectly identified in Malta as his private secretary in Labour Party newspapers. Pottle had not been employed by him "... since late last year and certainly had no authority to represent me during his stay in Malta."

On the verso is another copy of the letter with an additional paragraph added; this copy has been partially over typed.

Also present is an additional copy of the letter, TL(CAR), with the same features found on the original, except that the letter has been marked with a "V" through it in red ink.

It is probably the longer version that was sent. It has "Statement" written at the top of one of the copies.
