Dear Bertrand Russell,
Replying to yours of 2nd inst. I am much interested in your suggestion of the formation of a committee of one hundred for civil disobedience against nuclear warfare. As a Scotsman I am very pleased to accept your invitation that I should join the group entitled “The Committee of 100” for civil disobedience against nuclear warfare. I trust that good support will be secured and that useful results will develop.
Yours sincerely,
R.E.M./-.
