"My colleague, Professor Yuen Ren Chao, was interpreter to Bertrand Russell when he was lecturing in Peking during 1920-21. Ever since Professor Chao came to Berkeley many years ago as Agassiz Professor of Oriental Languages and Literature, we have frequently discussed our association with Russell....
