"My colleague, Professor Yuen Ren Chao, was interpreter to Bertrand Russell when he was lecturing in Peking during 1920-21. Ever since Professor Chao came to Berkeley many years ago as Agassiz Professor of Oriental Languages and Literature, we have frequently discussed our association with Russell.... Professor Chao told me that on the occasion of Russell's illness, a will was drawn up and Professor Chao and John Dewey were the witnesses."
