I noticed the change in his eyes, dimmed, almost glazed, and the sharpened lines of his face, but he seemed well and happy and intensely alive, talked with great satisfaction of his children; a good deal about Peace and War; and about his family, telling many good stories after Edith came in, and his new book Power, staying until past seven. Edith said I drove him away by mentioning Aristotle! Alys tells me he came up for 'the Apostles' dinner."
