Blake asks Peter to invite Martha Blake to come stay with them, if they are willing. She would endeavour to get a job with one of the American agencies so she would not be a strain on the Russell's limited food supply.
Blake is anxious to hear the results of the UK election. Following that he reflects on missing Roosevelt and feeling that Truman seems so small compared to him, but that he might be able to get material through that Roosevelt's opponents wouldn't have allowed.
He concludes the letter by reporting that the Germans are impressed with all the soldiers playing with the German children and thanks her for writing an article in the paper encouraging this to be allowed.
