Notes and topics

From Edith Russell's transcription when she was Edith Finch:

"... Peter Russell called up on Friday ... that Bertie was very ill with Bronchitis ... Sunday came a card (mislaid somewhere) from Peter to say Bertie was less ill than the doctor feared...."

Re their title: "I am at a loss. I asked them what they wanted, as they get letters with every conceivably sort of address—often just plain Bertrand and Patricia Russell. She replied while Bertie sat silent, that they liked the title.... My own idea is that they are not able to use it here in everyday life and business and that Bertie prefers not to use it at all—certainly in this country. So it seems to me better, but I will indulge her as a Countess when it is convenient. Think how poor Alys longs to be a Countess."
