BR has added the text of Samuel Foote's The Great Panjandrum Himself to the rear free endpaper of Iona and Peter Opie's The Oxford Nursery Rhyme Book (Russell's Library, no. 1454). There are other additions and annotations by BR throughout the book, recording alternate versions that he learned as a child. In 1947 (record 57203) he told Irina Stickland that he got the Grand Panjandrum from the beginning of Maria Edgeworth's Harry and Lucy.
