BR says he is pleased that his correspondence with Khrushchev concerning the appeal and his response was published in Izvestia. He says also that he is sympathetic to what the readers say about the relative achievement of Soviet society in 1963 compared to the legal disabilities imposed on Jews during Czarist days. BR adds that despite the positive growth, much more understanding and sympathetic treatment is deserved by Soviet Jews.
