BR TO RATHBONE BOOKS / JAMES FISHER, 3 MAY 1957
BRACERS 85547. TLS. Kotte Autographs

Plas Penrhyn,
Penrhyndeudraeth.
Merioneth.
3 May, 1957.

Dear Mr. Fisher,

Thank you for your letter of May 2 and for the enclosed typescript. I think your “entirely provisional” plan is excellent, and I am quite prepared to have you cut out whatever is necessary in order to reduce it to the requisite length.

I am grateful to you for your information about coconuts and for your enlargement of my very meagre dendrological knowledge. I am quite willing to substitute “sticks” for “coconuts”, though I regret the necessity as it makes a less vivid picture.

I enclose herewith the typescript that you sent me with a very small number of suggested corrections in the margin. I am surprised that our conversation reads as well as it does.

Yours very sincerely,
Bertrand Russell.
