Dear Warder,
I have received your half-yearly statements for sales up to last August. They do not make encouraging reading. It is dreadful that “The Scientific Outlook” sold only thirty-one copies. I am afraid it looks as if you were going to lose a large sum on the book. The depression must be a good deal worse in America than it is here, as my sales in England are almost as good as they ever were. Let us hope things in America will have begun to look up by this time next year. I do not like to think that you are losing money on my books.
With all best wishes,
Yours sincerely,
Bertrand Russell.
