A very clear letter on the Baruch proposal and the use BR wished the world had made of it.
BR hopes A.J.P. Taylor will modify what he has written: "As for A.J.P. Taylor's phrase that I 'warned them to undertake a preventive war in 1948' is hardly correct. I urged them to press the Baruch proposal, but I hoped that Russia would agree to it. I think perhaps you could induce him to modify this phrase. What would be entirely correct would be to substitute for the quoted words: 'wished America to use the utmost pressure to secure Russian acceptance of the Baruch proposal.'"
