This letter, pp. 56-7, which has no number, was prepared for a literary collection of their letters. No. 40 has been assigned to it. Russell has annotated "Boismason" as "'Woodhouse', the name of the farmer at whose farm near Ludlow we stayed." The name of the house was The Avenue and it was outside Ashford Carbonell. Note: The owner of the house in 2012 told S. Turcon that the house had never been a farmhouse and that the Woodhouses were not farmers.
