Notes and topics
A transcription of the original, record 52358; also a carbon copy.
BR has dated the original "(?) autumn 1914". "'Love one another' seems to me the whole of ethics, and I don't believe in the possibility of a good life from any self-centred motive, such as the wish to be 'good'."
BR refers to Murray's lecture on Stoicism. He gave the Conway Memorial Lecture on that topic on 16 March 1915, and it included "phusis" (the process of growth). Thus the re-dating.
