Varkonyi informs BR that his appeal on behalf of Zoltan Laffers has been rejected. Varkonyi mentions that Laffers' conduct was "extremely incorrect" and states that Prime Minister Kadar "cannot support such an attitude". However, Varkonyi does mention that Laffers' travel documents may be validated "... and perhaps after a certain time the competent Hungarian authorities may be able to reconsider a direct request from him."
