Medlock mentions that President Ayub of Pakistan is making a donation of 50,000 rupees to the BRPF, and notes "he's a great guy and this makes me all the fonder of him." Enclosed is a Reuters news release concerning the announcement of the conference by BR. The news release is document .178689. Written on the news release, in Medlock's hand: "BR and ER, for once Reuters has managed to spell your name with 2 l's instead of 1!!"

Also present is a copy of the letter, document .178688, TLS(CAR). The letter is a copy for Schoenman, and the words "Ralph cheers! JM." appear at the foot of the page.
