Notes and topics

The enclosed is a letter to the editor of the Manchester Guardian.

Patricia Russell states that she usually writes BR's letters for him. She discusses India, Churchill's imperialism, and Dunkirk.

The British authorities have not wanted to employ BR in any capacity, although he has repeatedly offered his services. She encloses a circular (not present) sent out in thousands. One of the BR lecture topics advertised is "Prospects of Anglo-American Friendship". No one has requested such a lecture. "Not long ago he wrote an article in which he tried to show that England is not a nation of fox-hunting imperialists, but no magazine would publish it...." BR is writing on medieval philosophy just now.
