Jencks, now President of CBS/Broadcast group, identifies himself as "the young man, to whom you refer [in vol. 2 of his Autobiography], who brought your groceries that summer and I remember very well and with great pleasure the breakfast table conversations which I had with you and your family." He discusses the alleged "classless" society at Fallen Leaf Lake. He is "terribly sorry" to hear of BR's disaffection in recent years with the U.S. and its people. He would like to know what John and Kate are doing now.
