From document .311156: "... I have since gathered from him [Conrad Russell] that many of his father's letters never reached him. I can only assume Peter [Patricia Russell] intercepted them.... C. was very distressed to learn that his father had written often, and that he had known nothing about it, but in the way of life and type of atmosphere Peter generated, such things are not impossible."
