My Dearest Dearest
This is only a line just on the chance that it may reach you Monday morning. I am oppressed by the longing to be with you, thinking of you ill and depressed, wondering whether you will have been made worse by all the worry — it is very hard to keep away from you. I am feeling the after affects of all the storm, as I expect you are too. It has left me feeling insecure, as if everything might be snatched from us at any moment. I shall get over that in time — partly the feeling is due to the weather, which is extraordinarily breathless and thundery and hot.
I made a beginning with the popular book.3 today but was very uninspired and only wrote 5 pages. Tonight I am going to see the Irish Players in the Playboy.4
I am all right underneath, only every moment away from you seems such a waste. Darling, I do hope you are feeling more cheerful and less headachy. I long for you with all my soul. Goodbye my Life —
Your loving
B
