Notes and topics

Malleson quotes BR from memory what he wrote her during the First World War: "How I envy those people who always believe what they believe; and who do not suffer from times of deadness to all that makes the framework of one's life!"

Malleson has now seen a number of BR's divorce press-cuttings.

Re BR's birthday broadcast which ended with the words: "'I have cared for what is noble; what is beautiful; what is gentle.' To be strictly accurate he should have added '—amongst other things'." (S. Turcon note)
