Notes and topics

Davies informs BR that the letter to the Lord Chancellor does not have to be in his own handwriting.

"The letters patent have now been lodged at the House of Lords, and I have just been advised by telephone that your claim as been accepted."

There has been a question raised, however, about BR's Christian name. "You are referred to in Lady Agatha's declaration as Bertrand Arthur William, whereas your birth certificate gives only Bertrand. Have you any evidence as to how you came by the extra names?"

Elizabeth Russell would like to see BR take his seat, if he does so in the next fortnight.
