In regards to BR asking if it is usual to have so much trouble in establishing a seat in the House of Lords, in his letter of the 13th instant, Davies informs him, "It is because you are not in the direct line of succession that you are called upon to furnish so much evidence. An eldest son by a first marriage would have very little to do to establish his claim to succeed."
