Edith writes underneath a typed copy of Woodrow Wyatt's letter which appeared in the Times on 11 July 1963.

Mr. Wyatt's second question asks: "Two, when was the last time that demonstrations involving similar numbers and similar behaviour took place in protest against political imprisonment in the Soviet Union and in the Russian colonies in eastern Europe?"

"We have no copy of the answer sent to the Times which Maud says in her first letter appeared the next day. I suppose question 2 was not answered for the obvious reasons that it was irrelevant and idiotic—cannot oppose all injustices the world round but needn't therefore cease to oppose some if they can be effectively opposed."
