From Edith Russell's transcription when she was Edith Finch:

"Bertie gives only 1 lecture a week, the rest of his time is his own to write away at a history of culture which he has in mind."

Re Patricia Russell: "She has B completely in hand, talks all the time, with authority on all subjects, interrupts, finishes his sentences for him, has taken over his family, friends and so forth as you may have observed. B takes it well, though he often 'swallows hard; as Edith observed after a rebuff or lets a matter drop. His control is very good!"

"Peter by the way will not let Edith drive B anywhere without her. When she cannot go B must take a taxi—to B's annoyance when he is comfortably seated and averse to leaving the car—to Edith's annoyance also, and amusement and slight gratification."
